Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 strips bacon
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion – diced
  • 56 oz baked beans – canned
  • 15 oz apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup barbeque sauce
  • 1 Tbsp light brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Transfer to paper towels to drain and cool, then crumble.
  2. Drain most of the bacon grease, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the skillet. Sauté the diced onion until softened.
  3. In a crockpot or slow cooker, combine the baked beans, apple pie filling, sautéed onions, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and ¾ of the bacon. Stir to combine.
  4. Cook on low heat for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  5. Top with remaining bacon crumbles before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use smoked paprika for a vegetarian version in place of bacon.
  • Add chipotle powder or cayenne for a spicy twist.
  • Cherry or peach pie filling can be used instead of apple.
  • Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 4 days or freezer for 2 months.
