Ingredients

  • 64 oz cranberry cocktail juice (any flavor)
  • 48 oz ginger ale (Canada Dry or Schweppes)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 5 star anise pods
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Optional: fresh cranberries for garnish
  • Optional: rosemary sprigs, lime wheels, or frozen fruit for garnish

Instructions

  1. Chill cranberry juice and ginger ale for at least 4 hours before serving.
  2. In a large pitcher or punch bowl, pour the ginger ale slowly to minimize fizz loss.
  3. Gently add the cranberry juice and stir very gently to combine.
  4. Add orange slices, star anise pods, and cinnamon stick for flavor and garnish.
  5. Optional: Add alcohol (vodka, rum, or tequila) or allow guests to spike their drinks individually.
  6. Serve immediately in glasses with garnish of cranberries and orange slices.

Notes

  • Prepare garnishes and chill base ingredients in advance to save time.
  • To keep punch cold without dilution, use frozen cranberries or an ice ring made from juice.
  • Store leftovers in the cranberry juice bottle and refrigerate for up to 2 days.
  • For a stronger ginger flavor, substitute ginger ale with ginger beer.
  • Use mulling spices if star anise and cinnamon sticks are unavailable.
