Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package sugar cookie dough (or homemade equivalent)
  • 1 cup buttercream frosting
  • Green food coloring
  • 1 cup Easter candy (mini chocolate eggs, jelly beans, or pastel candies)
  • Licorice laces, candy ropes, or pretzel sticks (for basket handles, optional)
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a muffin tin.
  2. Press sugar cookie dough evenly into the bottom and up the sides of each muffin cup.
  3. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  4. If centers puff up, gently press them down with a spoon while still warm.
  5. Allow cookie cups to cool completely in the pan.
  6. Tint buttercream frosting green and pipe or spread it into each cookie cup to resemble grass.
  7. Top with Easter candy and add handles if desired.
  8. Serve or store until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Let cookie cups cool fully before decorating to prevent melting frosting.
  • Store-bought or homemade sugar cookie dough both work well.
  • Use nut-free candy if serving to guests with allergies.
  • Undecorated cookie cups can be made ahead and frozen.
