Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 5 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease it.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar. Stir until well mixed.
  4. Add the beaten egg and vanilla extract. Stir again to combine.
  5. Add the flour and salt. Mix until fully incorporated. The batter will be thick.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the white sugar and cinnamon together.
  8. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top of the batter.
  9. Bake for 22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let cool before cutting into squares. Enjoy!
