Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 ½ cups beef broth
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, then drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef, uncooked rice, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and cover tightly with foil.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, or until rice is tender.
  7. Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
