Ingredients

  • Mascarpone cheese: Creates a smooth, creamy filling with a rich texture.
  • Heavy cream: Whipped to add lightness and volume to the mascarpone layer.
  • Powdered sugar: Sweetens the filling without adding grittiness.
  • Vanilla extract: Enhances the flavor with a subtle hint of warmth.
  • Fresh strawberries: Provide natural sweetness and a pop of color.
  • Sugar: Draws out the juices from the strawberries to create a syrup.
  • Ladyfinger cookies: Soak up the strawberry syrup, creating soft, cake-like layers.
  • Strawberry liqueur (optional): Adds a hint of sophistication and enhances the berry flavor.
  • Cocoa powder: A classic tiramisu touch that balances the sweetness.
  • Strawberry jam: Adds an extra layer of fruity goodness.

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice the strawberries, reserving a few whole ones for garnish.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine sliced strawberries, sugar, and a splash of water. Simmer until the strawberries release their juice, then let the syrup cool. Stir in strawberry liqueur if using.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  6. Dip the ladyfingers briefly in the cooled strawberry syrup and layer them at the bottom of the serving dish.
  7. Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, followed by a layer of sliced strawberries.
  8. Repeat the layers (ladyfingers, cream, strawberries) until the dish is full, finishing with a layer of cream.
  9. Dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with whole strawberries.
  10. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight.

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor and presentation.
  • Allow ample chilling time to achieve the right texture.
  • For a deeper flavor, let the tiramisu sit overnight.
  • Adjust the sugar level based on the natural sweetness of your strawberries.
