Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with a hand or stand mixer on medium speed until completely smooth and creamy (about 1 minute).
  2. Add honey, confectioners’ sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  3. Beat on medium-high speed until fully combined and smooth, about 1 more minute.
  4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed and beat again briefly.
  5. Taste and add more salt or honey as desired.
  6. Optional: Beat for an additional 3–5 minutes for whipped texture.

Notes

  • Use salted butter if desired; reduce or omit added salt.
  • Store tightly covered at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate for 2–3 months.
  • To freeze, use airtight container or wrap and freeze up to 6 months.
  • Try variations like cinnamon, hot honey, or maple syrup instead of honey.
  • Let frozen butter thaw in fridge before serving; re-whip for fluffiness if desired.
