Ingredients

  • 9 cups Rice or Corn Chex Cereal
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips (milk or semi-sweet)
  • 1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 cup Valentine M&Ms or heart-shaped candies
  • Optional: White chocolate drizzle, sprinkles, or strawberry cake mix for flavor variation

Instructions

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until smooth and melted.
  2. Place Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl and pour the melted chocolate mixture over it. Gently fold until every piece is evenly coated.
  3. Transfer the coated cereal into a large zip-top bag. Add powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake until all pieces are covered and no chocolate spots remain.
  4. Spread the coated cereal on a baking sheet to cool completely.
  5. Once cooled, add Valentine M&Ms, sprinkles, or candies and mix gently.
  6. Store in an airtight container or package into gift bags or jars for Valentine’s gifting.

Notes

  • Do not refrigerate; store at room temperature to maintain crunch.
  • Substitute peanut butter with almond, sunflower seed, or cookie butter for allergy-friendly options.
  • Add strawberry cake mix or pink melting wafers for a fruity twist.
  • For a peanut-free version, use cookie butter or white chocolate.
  • Perfect make-ahead treat — stays fresh up to one week in an airtight container.
