Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (1 stick)
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for crust)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for cream layer)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (8 ounce) tub of whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 (3 ounce) boxes of cranberry Jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 (14 ounce) can of whole berry cranberry sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a small bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Press the pretzel mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then let cool completely.
  4. While crust cools, dissolve cranberry Jello in 2 cups boiling water. Stir in cranberry sauce until well blended. Let it cool to room temperature.
  5. In a medium bowl, beat softened cream cheese and 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping until fully combined.
  6. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly over cooled pretzel crust, sealing all the way to the edges.
  7. Refrigerate the cream layer for 1 hour or until set.
  8. Once the Jello mixture is fully cooled, gently pour it over the cream layer.
  9. Refrigerate the entire dish for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
  10. Slice into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Ensure Jello is completely cooled before pouring to avoid melting the cream layer.
  • Seal cream layer to the edges to prevent Jello from leaking into the crust.
  • Use a hot, sharp knife for clean slices.
  • Best when made ahead and chilled overnight.
  • Use whole berry cranberry sauce for better texture and taste.
