Ingredients

Scale
    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
    • Pinch of salt

Optional Coatings & Add-ins:

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (almonds, pecans, pistachios)
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup crushed cookies or graham crackers
  • 2 oz white or dark chocolate (for drizzling)
  • Sprinkles or sea salt flakes, optional

Instructions

  1. Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add melted chocolate, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Beat until mixture is fully combined and glossy.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm enough to handle.
  5. Once chilled, scoop 1 tablespoon portions and roll between your palms to form smooth balls. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Roll each truffle in cocoa powder, crushed nuts, or coconut. Alternatively, dip in melted chocolate for a glossy coating.
  7. Refrigerate truffles for 30 minutes to set completely before serving. Enjoy chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature cream cheese for a lump-free texture.
  • Melt chocolate slowly to prevent it from seizing.
  • Chill the mixture before rolling for smooth, easy shaping.
  • For a firmer texture, refrigerate longer or add a tablespoon of cocoa powder.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
