Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) white cake mix
  • 1 box (3 oz) orange gelatin (Jello)
  • 2 tablespoons orange zest
  • 8 tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 bag (11 oz) white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cake mix, orange gelatin, and orange zest until combined.
  3. Add the softened butter and eggs. Beat using a hand or stand mixer for about 2 minutes, scraping down the bowl as needed.
  4. Fold in the white chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  5. Use a 1 ½ tablespoon cookie scoop to portion the dough. Roll into balls and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes, or until edges are set. Centers should remain soft.
  7. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Do not overbake; cookies continue cooking after being removed from the oven.
  • Use orange zest for fresher flavor—extract can be substituted but in small amounts.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Try different chip flavors like dark or milk chocolate for variations.
  • Use gluten-free cake mix for a gluten-free version.
