Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 20 Halloween Oreo cookies (roughly chopped and whole)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter with both sugars until smooth.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and chopped Oreos.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Arrange whole Halloween Oreos on top, print side up.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the edges are set and the top is shiny with a few cracks.
  9. Cool completely in the pan. For clean slices, refrigerate for 30 minutes before cutting.
  10. Slice into squares using a sharp knife, wiping between cuts.

Notes

  • Do not overbake—check a few spots with a toothpick for doneness.
  • Use parchment paper for easy lifting and cleaner cuts.
  • Try chilling brownies for extra chewiness and intensified texture.
  • Place whole Oreos with spooky designs facing up before baking.
  • Wipe the knife after each slice for neat brownie squares.
