Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 20-30 slices of pepperoni (regular or mini)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing crust)
  • Optional toppings: sliced black olives, red bell peppers, fresh basil
  • Flour for dusting surface

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  2. Let the dough rest at room temperature for 30 minutes to make it easier to shape.
  3. Lightly flour your work surface and flatten the dough into a circle, then shape into a heart by pinching the bottom point and molding the top into two arches.
  4. Transfer shaped dough to parchment paper or a baking sheet.
  5. Spread pizza sauce evenly, leaving a 1/2 inch border around the edge.
  6. Top with shredded mozzarella and arrange pepperoni slices in a heart pattern or across the surface.
  7. Brush the crust edges with olive oil for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 10–14 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use mini cookie cutters to shape pepperoni or veggies into hearts or letters.
  • To make ahead, prep and assemble the pizza and refrigerate up to 6 hours before baking.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
  • Customize toppings based on preference or dietary needs.
