Ingredients
Scale
1 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef or ground turkey
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tbsp dried Italian seasonings
24 oz jarred marinara sauce
1 lb dry bowtie noodles
2 cups water
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Set the Instant Pot to sauté mode. Add olive oil and ground beef (or turkey), cooking for 6–7 minutes until browned. Season with onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasonings, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
Press cancel. Spread marinara sauce over the meat without stirring. Sprinkle dry pasta on top in an even layer.
Pour in just enough water (about 2 cups) to cover the pasta. Do not stir.
Secure the lid, set the valve to sealing, and cook on high pressure for 4 minutes. Allow about 10 minutes for the pot to come to pressure.
Use quick release to avoid overcooking the pasta. Stir in ricotta cheese until combined.
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top, replace the lid, and let it sit for 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Use just enough water to cover the pasta to avoid a watery texture.
Bowtie or mafalda pasta works best, but penne or broken lasagna noodles can be used.
For a vegetarian option, replace meat with vegetables like mushrooms, spinach, or zucchini.
Try mixing in provolone, parmesan, or gouda with mozzarella for extra flavor.
