Ingredients

  • Ladyfingers – provide structure and soak up lemon flavor
  • Mascarpone cheese – adds rich, creamy texture
  • Lemon curd – brings bright, tart citrus flavor
  • Whipped cream – lightens the mascarpone for a fluffy texture
  • Limoncello or lemon juice – infuses the ladyfingers with citrus essence
  • Sugar and vanilla – sweeten and enhance the cream layer
  • Lemon zest – used for garnish and to intensify lemon flavor

Instructions

  1. Whip heavy cream with sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  2. In a separate bowl, blend mascarpone with lemon curd until smooth.
  3. Fold whipped cream into the mascarpone-lemon mixture until fully combined.
  4. Mix lemon juice or limoncello with water and a bit of sugar to create the soak.
  5. Quickly dip ladyfingers into the lemon soak and layer them in the bottom of your serving dish.
  6. Spread half the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  7. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  9. Garnish with lemon zest or fresh berries before serving.

Notes

  • Only dip the ladyfingers briefly to avoid sogginess.
  • Use fresh lemon zest and juice for best flavor.
  • Letting it chill overnight improves texture and taste.
  • Homemade lemon curd adds richer flavor than store-bought.
  • Top with powdered sugar or fresh berries for extra color and contrast.
