Ingredients

Scale

4 cups cranberry juice
2 cups pomegranate juice
1 cup orange juice
1 cup sparkling water or club soda
1 apple, thinly sliced
1 orange, thinly sliced
1 cup fresh cranberries
1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
1-2 cinnamon sticks
Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a large pitcher, combine the cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, and orange juice. Stir well to blend the flavors.
Add the sliced apple, orange, fresh cranberries, and pomegranate seeds to the pitcher. Toss in the cinnamon sticks for a hint of holiday spice.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
Just before serving, add the sparkling water or club soda for a refreshing fizz. Stir gently.
Pour the sangria into glasses over ice and garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs if desired.

Notes

  • Make It Ahead: Preparing your sangria a day before will deepen the flavors even more. Just add the sparkling water or soda right before serving to keep the fizz fresh.
  • Adjust Sweetness: If you like your sangria on the sweeter side, consider using sweetened cranberry juice or adding a bit of apple juice to the mix. You can also add a spoonful of honey or maple syrup to taste.
  • Keep It Cool: Serve this sangria cold for the best flavor. If you plan to leave it out for a while, add ice cubes or freeze some cranberries and pomegranate seeds to act as “ice” without diluting the drink.
  • Switch Up the Fruit: Experiment with seasonal fruits like pears, grapes, or even a handful of fresh raspberries. Just make sure they’re cut into bite-sized pieces for easy serving.
  • For a Stronger Spice: Add a few cloves or a slice of fresh ginger along with the cinnamon stick for an extra-spiced, warming flavor.
  • Presentation Matters: For an extra festive look, use clear glasses or a large glass pitcher to showcase the beautiful colors and textures of the fruit. Garnish with a rosemary sprig or a slice of citrus on each glass for a holiday-ready touch.
