  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add sliced onions and bell peppers and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  5. Remove vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
  6. Add shaved steak to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  7. Season the steak with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  8. Return onions and peppers to the skillet and stir to combine.
  9. Slice the slider rolls horizontally while keeping the rolls connected.
  10. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish.
  11. Spread the steak, onion, and pepper mixture evenly over the rolls.
  12. Layer provolone cheese slices evenly over the meat mixture.

  15. Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.
  16. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
  17. Bake for 15 minutes.

  19. Allow the sliders to rest for 5 minutes.
  20. Slice into individual sliders and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use ribeye steak for the most authentic Philly cheesesteak flavor.
  • Thinly sliced steak cooks quickly and stays tender.
  • Provolone cheese is traditional, but white American cheese also works well.
  • Add mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
  • Covering the sliders during baking helps prevent the rolls from drying out.
  • For a spicy version, add sliced jalapeños or pepper jack cheese.
  • These sliders can be assembled several hours ahead and refrigerated until ready to bake.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven for the best texture.
  • Freeze fully baked sliders for up to 2 months.
