  • 12 oz chicken sausage, or beef sausage, sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or broth (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the cooking oil.
  2. Add sliced sausage in a single layer and cook until browned on both sides.
  3. Remove sausage from the pan and set aside.
  4. Add sliced onion to the skillet and cook until slightly softened.
  5. Stir in garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  6. Add sliced cabbage and stir fry over high heat until tender-crisp.
  7. Return sausage to the skillet and toss to combine.
  8. Add soy sauce or broth if using and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  9. Cook for 2–3 more minutes until heated through, then serve hot.

Notes

  • Use a large pan to avoid overcrowding and excess moisture.
  • Slice cabbage thick enough to maintain texture.
  • Pre-cooked sausage works best for quick cooking.
  • Adjust seasoning at the end since sausage is already seasoned.
