Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat sugar and corn syrup over medium heat until it begins to bubble around the edges.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter until smooth.
  3. Place cereal in a large bowl and pour peanut butter mixture over it.
  4. Gently mix until evenly coated.
  5. Press mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan.
  6. Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips together until smooth.
  7. Spread melted topping over the cereal layer evenly.
  8. Let set at room temperature until firm.
  9. Cut into bars and serve.
