Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, pureed and reduced
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk (to thin glaze)
  • Optional: sprinkles, freeze-dried strawberries, or white chocolate drizzle for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another large bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the donuts spring back when touched. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  7. To make the glaze, puree fresh strawberries and cook in a saucepan over medium heat for 5 minutes to reduce. Cool completely.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, strawberry puree, vanilla, and milk until smooth and glossy.
  9. Dip cooled donuts into the glaze and let excess drip off. Place on a rack and allow the glaze to set for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best color and flavor.
  • If using frozen strawberries, thaw and drain before pureeing.
  • Adjust glaze consistency with more milk (to thin) or sugar (to thicken).
  • Store unglazed donuts in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for 2 months.
  • For extra flavor, add lemon zest or drizzle with melted white chocolate.
