  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 2 cups

Ingredients

2 cups apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 cloves
1 tablespoon molasses
Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

Combine Ingredients:
In a medium saucepan, combine all the ingredients except for the lemon juice. Whisk together until well combined.
Simmer:
Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the mixture has reduced by about a third.
Add Lemon Juice:
After simmering, remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the lemon juice.
Strain:
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solids.
Bottle and Store:
Transfer the strained sauce into a bottle or jar and allow it to cool completely. Seal and store in the refrigerator. The sauce will continue to develop its flavors over the next few days.
