  • 3/4 cup water

  • Food coloring of choice
  • Powdered sugar for coating

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet or heatproof pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water in a heavy-bottom saucepan.
  3. Cook over medium-high heat until the mixture reaches 300°F (149°C) on a candy thermometer without stirring after it begins boiling.
  4. Remove from the heat and immediately stir in the candy flavoring and food coloring.
  5. Carefully pour the hot candy mixture onto the prepared pan.
  6. Allow the candy to cool completely until hardened.
  7. Break the candy into bite-sized pieces using a mallet or the back of a heavy spoon.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking and store in an airtight container.
